Newman Medical’s PC based simpleABI vascular systems quickly and easily produce the results you need to identify lower extremity peripheral artery disease (PAD). These systems not only save time in the exam but their ease of use reduces staff training and training time. They also produce full page reports with the documentation needed for reimbursement.

Newman simpleABI Vascular Systems Features Include:

  • Cuff-link remote allows the user to step through the exam with push-button simplicity
  • Automatically calculates index and stores each exam while also adding drop down ICD-10 codes, editable menus, suggested CPT codes and interpretations of results shown
  • The Cuff-link includes a built-in Doppler using Newman Medical’s sensitive, interchangeable probes and powerful speakers

Available simpleABI Reports:

  • Single Level Exams – Single level exams for diagnosing obstruction. Can use either Doppler or PPG as pressure sensor. Meets equipment requirements for CPT code 93922.
    • ABI (Ankle Brachial Index) – with both dual ankle Doppler pressures and PVR waveforms. This is the base level PAD exam.
    • ABI with Toe (Ankle Brachial Index + Toe or TBI) – with dual ankle Doppler pressures and PVR waveforms. PPG or Doppler can also be used on toes. Typically used if the patient has calcified vessels the ABI cannot find.
  • Segmental Exams – Multi-level exams for finding the level of obstruction. Can use either Doppler or PPG as pressure sensor. Meets equipment requirements for CPT code 93923.
    • Three cuff Segmental
    • Three cuff with Toe
    • Four cuff
    • Four Cuff with Toe
  • Modern Segmental Exams – Multi-level exams done with PVR. These tests are much faster and easier on the patient in addition to providing the information needed to determine the level of occlusion and meet CPT requirements
  • ABI Exercise Exams – Vascular exercise exams. Useful for pseudo claudication if the patient has PAD symptoms but the resting ABI is normal or in doubt.
    • ABI with Exercise – Single level exam completed pre and post exercise. Can be done with either provocative maneuvers or treadmill protocol. Meets requirements for CPT code 93923.
    • ABI Stress with Treadmill – Single level exam completed both pre and post exercise. When used with the specified treadmill protocol meets equipment requirements for CPT code 93924.
